Naming and Visual Identity
FRAMED FUTURES is a short film competition by GenAI Zurich, Stories AG, Das Alte Lager and the After the Algorithm Festival. Within 72 hours, participants create short films that imagine a Switzerland shaped by artificial intelligence in 30 years.
The identity is built around four nested 16:9 film frames that progress from the present to 2056 in ten-year steps, turning the visual system into a cinematic window onto possible futures. Through repetition and depth, imagery echoes across the stacked frames, as if the future were being mirrored and refracted through time. Moving through all layers, the animated text banner acts like a slicer: a graphic cut that travels through time, echoing the act of filmmaking itself. Oblique typography and tape-like information bands translate competition, momentum and call to action into a clear, recognisable identity, while Cecilia Batista's abstract-surreal illustration adds a contrasting visual layer.
