Hans Rudolf Bosshard
The starting point for this book project was a collection of previously unpublished teaching materials by Hans Rudolf Bosshard — painter, typographer, graphic designer, woodcut artist, book designer, author and teacher. The aim was to create a publication that makes Bosshard’s didactic systems on design principles, color theory and form accessible today. We digitized the entire archive, redrew the hand-drawn graphics as vectors and transferred image and text material into a consistent new typesetting system. The first draft shown here was developed within four weeks and outlines the concept for a contemporary textbook.
